PUTRICIDE
FEB 8, 2010

With a whole lot of puddle jumping, slime killing, and bomb dodging Putricide went down. Despite all his promises there was no horror or fun to be found anywhere.. However there was candy... he did have candy in the van...

Screenshot to be posted tomorrow.

THIS IS NOT THE COUNCIL YOU'RE LOOKING FOR
JAN 25, 2010

It seems like the WoW devs keep on coming back to the "Council" concept -- we had the Iron Council in Ulduar, the great Illidari Council fight in Black Temple and now the Blood Prince Council in Icecrown Citadel.

Tragically, the newest council is a joke. We one-shot it in 25-man with more than half the raid never having seen the fight before. When we think of how much work and fun went into mastering the BT Council fight (and that we had to clear it each week before we could take on Illidan, no raid lockout extensions back then...) it's clear that the one true "Council" in our hearts will still be those four chatty blood elves in Illidan's temple.

We haven't tried the Queen yet in 25-man, since we're still playing with Putricide's bouncing goo bombs. We've got guild groups with both Putricide and Queen down in 10-man, it's just a question of allocating our nine hours a week of 25-man time.

ROTFACE AND LIFE ON ZULJIN
JAN 14, 2009

Back into ICC25 after the reset. One-shot every boss through Festergut, took down Rotface after a little bit of practice with add management and Not Standing In Bad Stuff and had five increasingly-good attempts on Putricide. We're saving the last five for Monday's raid.

This is a good point to mention that we're pretty happy with where we find ourselves in comparative progression on Zul'jin. We didn't expect to lead the way -- in fact, when we were looking for a new server after Area 52 we specifically didn't want to go to another server where we'd be leading progression. (We raid just nine hours a week, we shouldn't be the best progression guild on a server.) There's some really solid hardcore progression raiding guilds on this server and we've got respect for what they accomplish. We're looking forward to seeing what they do once real hardmode progression comes out for ICC25 -- nothing right now is honestly all that difficult and it's not a great test.

That being said, we like to think that our relatively compressed raid schedule means that we've been forced to learn efficient raiding, and if there were some way to rank guilds on a server via progression per time spent in raids, that we'd be near the top of the list. (We ran into any number of situations in the past where another guild would clear content before us, but we'd get it down in less time spent in-instance.)

At the end of the day, relative guild progression is a pretty meaningless game-within-a-game, but it doesn't stop us from paying attention every now and then. We hope you're having fun in ICC and other new content as well, regardless of what you and/or your guild are doing.

FESTERGUT
JAN 11, 2009

Despite the bugs and lag, we've been enjoying Icecrown Citadel. We quickly cleaned out the first four bosses, waited for the silly unlock mechanic and then got Festergut down and a few attempts in on Rotface before the reset.

We've been putting together some solid raids, and have added some quality new players to the guild since moving to Zul'jin. We'll probably take a recruiting break for a while to let everybody settle in, but we'll always look at a quality application.

GREENER PASTURES
DEC 1, 2009

Apparition has moved from Area 52 to Zul'Jin. We didn't switch servers lightly, and we miss our friends who stayed behind, but we simply couldn't function as an endgame raiding guild in the Alliance faction on Area 52. Blizzard's short-sighted decisions to allow server and faction transfers to completely unbalance what had been at least a somewhat competitive server drained the Alliance pool to the point where we had to move. We'll continue cheering on the diehard Alliance on Area 52 from our new home, but this was a decision we had to make for the long-term health of our guild.

We're recruiting on Zul'jin, and we've already added a few new people. We know we've got the capability to clear content -- the dozen or more people in the guild with their 10-man Ulduar drakes, Starcaller and ToGC chest drops attest to that -- but we weren't able to put together consistent 25-man raids on Area 52. We expect that to change, and for our 25-man progression to catch up to our 10-man.

We're enjoying ourselves thoroughly on Zul'jin and want to thank everybody who's welcomed us to the server. Our only question: Sometimes, in heroics here, we get these things called "stone keeper shards" off the bosses. Anybody know what these things are all about? We don't remember ever getting any on A52...

ALIGNING STARS AND KICKIN DEMONS
NOV 10, 2009

Overdue updat. The past week was met with some good success. We started the week off by downing Jaraxxus Heroic in 25 man and have begun working on Champions 25 Heroic.

Also after a break from Algalon and a return to attempts a few weeks ago we have gotten a few Starcallers in our ranks.

Great work everybody

BACK IN ACTION
OCTOBER 29, 2009

After filling up some recruitment needs and a long needed night of straight focus Apparition went in to both Ulduar and Trial of the Grand Crusade and downed two new heroic battles.

Both Thorim and The Beasts of Northrend went down after a night of tightening up our strategies.

Now if only Maey noticed that the questlog got deleted BEFORE Thorim went down. Here's hoping a GM gives us our hard earned Sigil.

These kills go out to Kida. Happy Birthday, buddy!

A CALL TO ARMS
OCTOBER 7, 2009

It's been a while since we have updated the site, we dropped the wordpress themes to bring back the nicer looking content as we don't update much even with wordpress

APPARITION is currently looking for new people to join our ranks in our fight against Arthas and his forces. We are looking for skilled individuals in various roles that are up to the challenge of hard-modes.

If this sounds like you, we encourage you to check out our application form.

IF SHE HAD HAMMER
AUGUST 28, 2009

Congratulations to Solitude on her Area 52 faction-first legendary “Val’anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings” healing mace, which resulted from the guild’s first three-keeper Yogg-Saron kill on Wednesday.

Pictures, etc. coming soon.

WHAT A WEEK IT'S BEEN
July 14, 2009

It’s been a great week to say the least. Not only did we get our first attempts at Algalon-10, but we also downed Yogg Saron-25 on our first attempt of the night last night. In all it took us about 10-11 hours on Yogg to down him. Grats to everyone! With Yogg dying so early on what would have been our fourth night on him, we had time to go back and clear out the optional bosses in the instance and added the e-peen “Stoking the Furnance” achievement to our successes this week.

Now that Yogg is dead and the instance cleared we will start to work on unlocking Algalon in the 25s – first up, Council hard mode!

HARD MODE GENERAL
July 12, 2009

Saronite, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.

I love the smell of saronite in the morning. You know, one time we wiped on a boss for three hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn’t find one of ‘em, not one stinkin’ iron dwarf body. The smell, you know that saronite smell, the whole hill. Smelled like…victory.

Someday this instance is gonna end…

HMMM. I DON'T THINK THIS IS KOSHER
July 11, 2009

Progress was made after our second full night on 25 man Yogg this past reset. Phase one is clean as a whistle and we are getting deep into Phase two. Just need to tighten up a bit and move around the outside a little faster and he will soon be dead! While we all had a great time battling the old school God of many mouths, it started to become obvious (as the screenshot shows) that by the end of the night he was indeed having an effect on our sanity.

APPARITION SEEKS AUDIENCE WITH ALGALON
July 7, 2009

Hard mode Keepers were the order of the week this reset. Hodir, Thorim, and Freya all relinquished their sigils to us, and after a couple nights of coercion Mimiron too gave up his sigil. So tonight, with key in hand, we stepped into Algalon’s chamber to hold council. We did pull him a couple times just to see what kind of tricks this celestial being might have, but plan to step confidently into his chamber next reset in order to further discuss his plans for Azeroth. Grats to all on a fantastic week!

FREYA 10 HARD MODE
Jul7 4, 2009

Last night we downed Freya with all 3 keepers up on hard mode and earned the Knock,Knock,Knock on Wood achievement. The only one between us and Algalon 10 is Mimiron.

Keep on rollin’

GENERAL DOWN, ON TO YOGG
May 31, 2009

Little slow on posting this one, cant' find my screenshot either, if anybody else took a good one send it my way

After a streak of random-number-generated wipes, we decided to try the always famous "DPS like mad, watch where you're standing, don't heal the boss" strat and downed General Vezax to get us up to the last boss in heroic Ulduar.

We now focus our rage on Yogg-Saron...

HODIR'S SIGIL 10 MAN
May 19, 2009

Somehow we never recieved credit but as you can see by our chat log and the shield on Maey's back we did in fact beat Hodir on hard mode 10 man.

MIMIRON
May 14, 2009

Fresh reset, a clean head, and a bit of practice. Who knew that's all it would take?

THORIM
May 07, 2009

Apparition took its first heroic train ride to Mimiron after dropping Thorim last night. We're back into our progression groove, pounding out 10 bosses in less than six hours of raiding after the reset and still having time for some familiarization with the Mimiron fight. ("Push that button, get gkicked!")

FREYA
April 29, 2009

Back into heroic Ulduar after the reset, clearing to Iron Council and taking them down. On to Thorim & Mimiron.

We're still looking for good players -- and good people -- to join us. Ranged dps and healers especially welcome, bonus points for a sense of humor.

10 Man Yogg Down!
April 26, 2009

A lot of effort and tuning our strat went in to this but today we locked ourselves in as the first alliance guild on area 52 to down Yogg Saron. Aferwards we went and did Assembly of Iron on hard mode to unlock the start of the Algalon quest.

Thanks to everybody who put in all the effort to get this done
